Scalloped Basket Class w/Deb

Join Deb as she teaches you how to make a Scalloped Basket using the Scalloped Basket pattern from Poorhouse Designs.  You will be making the largest basket.


  • Scalloped Basket Pattern by Poorhouse Designs
  • Bosal double sided fusible pre-cut scalloped placemats (need 2)  Both can be purchased at Pick Your Stitch and you get a 10% class discount)
  • Sewing Machine with new needle (suggest 80/12)
  •                 (Sew Steady Table helpful)
  • Rotary cutter and mat (24” x 18” if you have this one)
  • Small iron with small ironing pad
  • Scissors to cut stabilizer
  • Very sharp scissors to cut fabric and thread
  • Wonder Clips and pins
  • Thread with matching bobbin to match majority of fabric colors for OUTER BASKET
  • Thread with bobbin to match FACING fabric
  • Thread with bobbin to match BUTTON LOOPS
  • ¼” Foot and Open Toe Foot
  • Nonstick pressing sheet
  • Point Turner and stiletto
  • 6” x 24” ruler
  • Pencil
  • 4 5/8" buttons


FABRIC (Please have cut before class)

  1. Outer Basket - 8 strips 2” x WOF (width of fabric)

                a.           Cut 8 strips 2” x 16” (outer fabric)

                b.           Cut 8 strips 2” x 6” (side fabric)


  1. Inner Basket

                a.            Cut 21 ½” x 15”


  1. Facing (need 2)

                a.            Cut each 21 ½ x 15”


  1. Button Loops (color of choice with thread to match)

                a.            Cut 4 strips 5” x 1 ¾”
