| Requirements: | Fabric Requirements • Backing fabric – This can be chose at the shop after the top has been completed, once we know the final size o OR bring 1 yard • Binding fabric – 1/2 yard to match border fabric • Craft Size Batting - A piece of batting that measures at least 2" - 3" larger than the finished quilt / runner size is required • Safety pins (or Long straight pins) for basting. They sell quilting safety pins that are curved which work very well! • Thread to match your binding Supplies Needed • Rotary Cutter (45mm or 60 mm) • Rotary Cutting Mat (18” x 24” minimum, 24” x 36” recommended) • Acrylic Ruler (6.5” x 24.5” recommended) • Neutral Thread (I like to use a medium tan or gray) • Sewing Machine in working order and machine manual • New sewing machine needle (I recommend 80/12 or 70/10 Microtex Needles or Organ Needles for piecing) • 90/14 or 100/16 microtex needles for quilting • Scissors • Pins Recommended Supplies (I will be demonstrating these items in class. They can be purchased the day of the class) • Quarter Inch Quilting Foot or Quarter Inch Right Guide Foot • Stitch in the ditch foot • Wool Pressing Mat, Wooden Pressing Blocks or Irons • Glow tape for marking rulers • 12.5” acrylic square |
